When Area was appointed to design and deliver the new UK headquarters for Suntory, the brief went beyond creating a functional workspace.
The design needed to capture Suntory’s Japanese heritage while expressing the energy of its household brands, Lucozade and Ribena in a space that felt calm, connected and beautifully refined.
Set across two floors at ARC Uxbridge, the new 27,000 sq ft headquarters brings people together through balance and flow, two themes that run through every part of the design. From the natural materials and layered textures to acoustic comfort, the space was designed to make employees feel comfortable, inspired, and support their everyday work.
We were proud to support Area with a series of AllSfär acoustic solutions that helped shape both the sound and the aesthetic of the space. Our Öra Layered Aligned panels were installed, creating a striking feature wall that adds visual depth and softness to the room. The panels’ layered design absorbs sound, helping to reduce echo and bring a sense of calm focus, especially important in spaces used for meetings and presentations.
Elsewhere, a series of bespoke Öra V designs were created specifically for Suntory’s new office. These unique patterns were applied across both walls and ceilings, introducing gentle movement and texture that echo the organic principles of Japanese design.
The Öra V panels and rafts contribute to the serene tone of the workplace, softening the acoustic environment without ever feeling heavy or intrusive. Their sculptural texture adds an element of craft that complements Area’s wider use of natural wood, greenery and soft, neutral tones. Together, these details create a seamless sensory experience, one that feels balanced, refined, and unmistakably Suntory.
We’re delighted that our Öra products played a key role in bringing this project to life. They demonstrate how acoustic solutions can do more than manage sound. They can enhance architecture, support wellbeing, and contribute to a sense of quiet sophistication.
The finished workplace is a beautiful reflection of Suntory’s values: a blend of innovation, craftsmanship and calm. It shows how design and acoustics can work hand in hand to create a space that feels both inspiring and restorative
