Reflecting on Design Festival North: A Tour of Innovation and Inspiration
At AllSfär, we have been proud to be a part of Design Festival North over the last few months. This event has been an incredible journey, taking us to four vibrant cities: Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, and Manchester. Our mission was to showcase our latest innovations in workspace acoustics, and being involved in the 2024 tour alongside so many other innovative brands was truly an honour.
One of the highlights of DFN On Tour was the opportunity to present our cutting-edge sustainable acoustic products specifically designed for workspace interiors. A standout from our showcase and a real crowd-pleaser was our award-winning 100% biodegradable wall tile, FIKA. This innovative product is paving the way toward creating workspace designs that are kinder to the planet. FIKA is made from mycelium and hemp and isn’t just an eco-friendly solution; it also combines functionality and aesthetic appeal, making it a favourite among designers looking to incorporate truly sustainable products into their projects.
Another highlight was showcasing a new and dynamic collection of wall surfaces, created in collaboration with MF Design Studio, which includes a range of three pattern ranges and three distinctive colour palettes. These panels and colours add a distinctive edge to any workspace, offering enhanced sound absorption with layers that interact with light and texture. This collection, recognised as a finalist for the Mix Awards earlier this year, demonstrates our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and functionality in acoustic solutions.
Our latest ceiling products, Nexus and BreezeCurve, also gained a special spot. These unique designs are perfect for a wide range of workspaces and excel as sound absorbers in busy areas. Nexus is our innovative modular ceiling system which makes it suitable for both small and large areas. BreezeCurve on the other hand is a more playful twist on traditional acoustic baffles – perfect for a unique look.
Throughout the tour, we had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of interior designers and architects distributing a massive number of our acoustic goodie bags. Filled with the usual acoustic information as well as photo holders, coasters and laptop stands made from 60% recycled PET felt.
Design Festival North has been an exhilarating and rewarding experience, allowing us to showcase our products, engage with a vibrant community of designers and architects, as well as gather valuable insights into the future of workspace interiors.
As we reflect on the success of this year's tour, we are already eager for Design Festival North’s next tour in 2025. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to continuing our journey, contributing to the knowledge of acoustics and the evolution of design.
Thank you to everyone who made this tour possible, from Design Social North - the organises, to all those who took the time to visit. We can’t wait to see you at the next Design Festival North, where we will have even more exciting products to showcase!
