FIKA is a new revolutionary, award winning acoustic wall tile made from mycelium and hemp. FIKA is a 100% sustainably sourced material, 100% recycled, 100% recyclable (compostable) and 100% natural. FIKA has been designed by our in-house designers and is grown exclusively for us here in the UK.

Process
The magic of mycelium… how is FIKA made?
Process overview
1. Mycelium and hemp
2. Fill parts with mycelium and hemp
3. Internal growth in pod
4. Pop parts
5. External growth in pod
6. Dry parts
7. Biodegradable at the end of product life
Steps
The trays are filled with hemp hurds and mycelium and grown for 4 days.
The growth parts are removed from the tray and then allowed to grow for a further 2 days to create a velvety overgrowth.
These are then dried to disable any future growth.
The tiles are popped out of the moulds and are ready to be painted and finished ready for easy installation.
The wall tiles are completely biodegradable at the end of their product life.
