Acoustics are no longer just a ‘nice to have’ in workspace design. We all know that when a space sounds better, people feel better, whether they’re trying to focus, bounce ideas around, or just enjoy being in the office without battling background noise.
But knowing you need good acoustics is one thing. Finding solutions that look as good as they perform is where it gets tricky.
That’s exactly the challenge we set out to solve at AllSfär.
For us, it’s never been about hiding acoustic products away or making them blend into the background. We design products that become part of the space visually and physically. Some of our most sound-absorbing products are also our most design-led, and that’s not by chance. It’s because we build them that way from the start.
Instead of reducing material to make products more minimal (which often means compromising on performance), we add more. But not just for the sake of it, it’s about adding the right layers, the right textures, and the right forms to create something that’s both functional and beautiful.
Take Vault, for example. It’s not just a sound-absorbing product; it’s a sculptural feature. The curved shapes and layered depth are inspired by Romanesque architecture but simplified for today’s commercial interiors to soften sound while bringing a real sense of presence to the room. Plus, the way it’s designed means it traps even more sound to reduce reverberation. It’s no surprise it was named a finalist for Surface Product of the Year at the 2025 Mix Awards.
Or Grid our ceiling lattices that do double duty. They reduce reverberation overhead and transform a usually overlooked part of the room into something architectural. So many of our ceiling products do this.
And then there’s Öra Layered. Our passion for design led us to collaborate with May Fawzy to create a collection of products, including this range. This collection is inspired by traditional wall panelling, which has been given a modern twist. The Origin, Aligned and Rooted designs take that classic concept and rework it to bring both beauty and acoustic comfort to a space. They make the space feel softer—not just to the ear, but to the eye.
For us, this balance of performance and design isn’t an afterthought—it’s part of the process from day one. Every curve, cut, finish and texture is considered with both in mind.
We’re constantly thinking: How will this affect the noise within a room? How will this enhance the aesthetics of a room?
Because when someone walks into a workspace, they don’t experience the design in separate parts they experience it as a whole. The look, the sound, the atmosphere. It’s all connected.
At the end of the day, workspace design is about creating places where people want to be. Comfortable, considered, visually inspiring, and easy on the senses. Good design isn’t about choosing between form and function it’s about finding solutions that do both, and then some.
So, if you’re working on your next project and need acoustic solutions that sound great and look the part, we’d love to help!
